Cookie Policy

This extended Cookie Policy (“Cookie Policy”) is intended to illustrate the types and categories of cookies, the purposes and methods of use of cookies by Caffè Borbone S.r.l., the data controller, with registered office at Zona ASI Loc. Pascarola snc, 80023 Caivano (NA) – Italy, VAT No. 07097160639 (“Caffè Borbone” or the “Controller”), as well as to provide Users/Guests with instructions on the actions to refuse or delete cookies present on the website www.caffeborbone.mom (“Site”). This Cookie Policy forms an integral part of the Caffè Borbone Site Privacy Policy. The User/Guest may exercise the rights provided under the GDPR and the related implementing legislation by writing to privacy@caffeborbone.it, while to change cookie settings they may follow the instructions contained in this Cookie Policy.

1. WHAT COOKIES AND TRACKING TOOLS ARE

Cookies consist of portions of code (computer files or partial data) sent by a server to the user’s Internet browser, stored automatically by that browser on the user’s device and automatically sent back to the server on each subsequent access to the site. A cookie usually contains the name of the website from which it originates and the duration of the cookie (i.e., how long it will remain on the user’s device). On each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back to the website that generated them (first-party cookies) or to another website that recognizes them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize the user’s device and serve various purposes such as enabling efficient navigation between pages, remembering favorite pages and, in general, improving the browsing experience. They also help ensure that online advertising content is more targeted to a user and their interests.

If the User/Guest decides to disable cookies, or specific categories of cookies, this may affect and/or limit their browsing experience on the Site; for example, they may not be able to visit certain sections of the Site or may not receive personalized information when visiting the Site. A cookie can also be a “first-party” or “third-party” cookie depending on the website or domain from which it originates. First-party cookies are essentially cookies set and/or managed by the Site Controller. Third-party cookies are cookies set by a domain different from the one visited by the User/Guest. With regard to third-party cookies, Caffè Borbone has no control over the information provided by the cookie and has no access to such data. This information is entirely controlled by third parties as described in their respective privacy and cookie policies.

2. WHAT TYPES OF COOKIES MAY BE USED ON THE SITE AND HOW LONG THEY ARE STORED?

A. TYPES OF COOKIES

Detailed information on the categories of cookies that may be used on the Site is provided below; similar information is available in the “Review your cookie choices” section in the footer of the Site.

Strictly necessary (or technical) cookies

Technical cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the Site, allowing the User/Guest to view it correctly and use its features and functions (for example, they allow the storage of previous actions or enable saving the User/Guest’s session and/or performing other activities strictly necessary for the operation of the Site). The prior consent of the User/Guest is not required for the installation of such cookies and they cannot be disabled through the interface available on the Site.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies, including third-party cookies, allow the Site to remember the User/Guest’s choices (for example, the selected language) in order to provide more personalized and optimized browsing. Functional cookies are not essential for the functioning of the Site but improve its quality and browsing experience. If these cookies are not accepted, the performance and functionality of the Site may be reduced and access to Site content may be limited. The User/Guest may disable functional cookies at any time using the “Review your cookie choices” button in the footer of the Site.

Performance (or analytics) cookies

Analytics cookies, including third-party cookies, allow the Site’s audience and traffic to be analyzed and measured and help to understand how Users/Guests interact with the Site by providing information about the last page viewed, the number of sections and pages visited, the time spent on the Site and any events that occurred during browsing, thereby helping to identify any difficulties encountered by the User/Guest in using the Site. This information may be associated with other User/Guest details such as IP address, domain or browser; however, it is analyzed together with information from other Users/Guests so as not to identify a specific User/Guest. These cookies are collected and aggregated in anonymous form and allow the Site’s performance to be improved. Under applicable law, prior consent is not required for the installation of analytics cookies insofar as they do not allow direct identification of the User/Guest (for example, for third-party cookies by masking appropriate portions of the IP address within the cookie). The User/Guest may disable the use of such cookies at any time using the “Review your cookie choices” button in the footer of the Site.

Targeted advertising (or profiling) cookies

Profiling cookies are used to collect data about the device (including its characteristics and location) and the User/Guest’s browser activity in order to analyze their interests (visits to the Site, demographic data, location) and show personalized advertising and content on the Site or elsewhere (including the creation of personalized content profiles), measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on the Site or limit the number of times a specific advertisement is displayed, and for fraud and error prevention and to enable linking of different devices.

Profiling cookies may be issued by the Controller, its advertising partners and/or other partners. These cookies do not directly store personal information but are based solely on identifying the User/Guest’s browser and internet-enabled device. The User/Guest may change their preferences or withdraw consent for certain profiling cookies at any time using the “Review your cookie choices” button in the footer of the Site. If the User/Guest does not accept profiling cookies or later withdraws consent to their use, some Site features may not function properly. The User/Guest will continue to see advertising on the Site, but it will not be based on their interests. For more information on targeting cookies and to manage preferences for third-party profiling cookies, please visit http://www.youronlinechoices.com.

Third-party cookies

These cookies are set by third-party companies in order to allow content sharing and interaction with social networks or other external platforms directly from the Site pages. These cookies can track the User/Guest’s browser on other sites and create a profile of their interests. This may affect the content and messages displayed on other sites visited. If these cookies are not accepted, it is not possible to use or view these sharing tools. Under applicable law, prior consent is required for the installation of such cookies. The User/Guest may choose to disable such cookies at any time using the “Review your cookie choices” button in the footer of the Site.

The User/Guest may view at any time the live list of cookies used on the Site by accessing the table set out under point 3 below.

Cookies used for statistical purposes, where present, collect data that are anonymized before being transferred. The live technical scan carried out on 6 July 2026 did not detect Google Analytics 4 (or Meta Pixel) cookies; their presence or absence must be separately confirmed by the Site administrator (see the updated cookie table below and the recommended follow-up actions).

B. HOW LONG ARE COOKIES STORED?

Cookies may expire at the end of a browser session (the period between the opening of a browser window by the User/Guest and its closing) or may be stored for a longer period of time. “Session” cookies allow websites to link a User/Guest’s actions during a single browsing session and are deleted when the User/Guest ends the browser session. “Persistent” cookies remain stored on the User/Guest’s device beyond individual browsing sessions for varying periods and allow preferences or actions of the User/Guest in relation to a specific website to be remembered. Through persistent cookies, Users/Guests accessing the Site (or other Users/Guests using the same device) are automatically recognized on each visit.

3. UPDATED LIST OF FIRST- AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES USED ON THE SITE

Click the “Cookie List” button below to view the full list.

The table below has been updated on the basis of a live automated technical scan carried out on 6 July 2026. This scan is external and non-exhaustive: it must be confirmed by a more in-depth review performed directly by the Site administrator, who has full knowledge of the underlying infrastructure and of all scripts actually installed (including those triggered only on specific pages or after consent is given).

4. HOW CAN COOKIES BE ACCEPTED, BLOCKED OR DELETED?

Site settings. Technical cookies are essential for the functioning of the Site and, as such, are set by default with no possibility for the User/Guest to disable them. With regard to cookies or other tracking tools other than technical cookies set by default, the User/Guest may give consent to their use by clicking the “Accept all cookies” button on the short notice (banner) visible during the first access to the Site and shown again to the User/Guest no sooner than six months after the previous display; alternatively, the User/Guest may refuse by clicking the “X” close button in the upper right of the banner or the “Reject all” button. Options to limit or block different types of cookies may be configured by clicking the “Cookie settings” button in the banner. The User/Guest may also configure their preferences and/or change previously set preferences or withdraw consent to certain categories of cookies by accessing the “Review your cookie choices” section in the Site footer at any time during browsing.

Browser settings. The User/Guest may also manage and limit or block cookies by changing the settings of their internet browser directly. Most internet browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically; however, the User/Guest can change these settings to block cookies or to be alerted whenever cookies are sent to their device. There are various ways to manage cookies through the browser; please refer to the browser instructions or help screen to check how to configure or change the relevant settings. The User/Guest may also change the default configuration and disable cookies (i.e., block them permanently on any website) by setting the highest protection level.

Below are the paths to manage cookies in the main browsers:

Internet Explorer: http://windows.microsoft.com/it-it/windows7/block-enable-or-allowcookies

Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/it-it/help/17442/windows-internet-explorer-delete-manage-cookies

Safari (Mac): https://support.apple.com/it-it/guide/safari/sfri11471/mac

Safari (iPad and iPhone): https://support.apple.com/it-it/HT201265

Chrome: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=it-IT&hlrm=fr&hlrm=en

Firefox: http://support.mozilla.org/it-IT/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences

If the User/Guest uses different devices to view and access the Site (for example, computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), they must ensure that each browser on each device is configured to reflect their cookie preferences.

Device settings. Many operating systems allow users to limit the tracking of advertising content associated with the device ID. These settings can be changed directly on the device. For more information, please consult the operating system user manual installed on the device or the relevant support pages.

Third-party cookies. By clicking “Cookie settings” in the banner displayed on the first access to the Site (and shown again no sooner than six months after the previous display) or by accessing the “Review your cookie choices” section in the Site footer, the User/Guest may disable individual cookie categories. If the User/Guest does not wish to receive third-party cookies on their device, they may also access the information notices and consent forms of those third parties and opt out via the links provided under point 3 above.

Note: the cookies/storage names, providers, durations and categories, and the noted absence of Google Analytics 4/Meta Pixel, shown above reflect an external automated technical scan (6 July 2026) and are provided for guidance. They must be confirmed with a more in-depth scan performed by the Site administrator, who has direct knowledge of the infrastructure and of all scripts actually installed (including those triggered only on specific pages, such as the checkout payment provider, or only after consent is given), before this Cookie Policy is finalised and published.

Additional note on the Gorgias AI chatbot (“Ava”): the present scan only captured the GW_TOKEN item, because it did not include an active conversation with Ava. Chat widgets of this kind typically create further cookies or local-storage entries only once a conversation actually starts (for example, a visitor/conversation identifier, the open/closed state of the widget, and message history). Gorgias publishes its own list of cookies, which should be consulted directly and kept up to date. Recommended action: repeat the technical scan while starting and completing a full test conversation with Ava (including providing an email address if prompted), so that any further Gorgias cookies or storage items are captured and added to the table above.
