What does ESE 44 mm pod machine mean?
E.S.E. stands for "Easy Serving Espresso" and refers to a universal standard: a single dose of ground coffee, pressed and sealed in filter paper with a diameter of exactly 44 millimetres. Our coffee machines are optimised for this very format, ensuring an even flow of water for a rich, creamy extraction.
What is the difference between a pod machine and a capsule machine?
The main difference lies in how the system works and in the structure of the single serve. Pod machines use only paper filters, offering a preparation that naturally brings out the smoothness and body of the coffee. A capsule, on the other hand, is a rigid container (made of aluminium or plastic) that uses a different locking and brewing system.
What is the best way to clean and maintain the machine?
Maintaining a pod coffee machine is very simple, because the ground coffee never comes into direct contact with the internal components. Simply empty the drip tray regularly and use bottled still water in the dedicated reservoir: this reduces limescale build-up, extending the life of the machine and keeping the great taste of your everyday coffee unchanged.
